WWE Raw hasn't missed a beat on the USA Network

Another 4.0 rating for this week's edition

I can't imagine the buzz it will get now

from April it will be all about Wrestlemania

I think USA should award the WWE with two more shows

beginning in the fall.

Credit the hype surronding Triple H vs. John Cena

and Edge vs. Mick Foley for Wrestlemania 22

Thank you for the daily update!

Oldvnewschool Have You Met Joseph G?

Yeah, no kidding. I always feel relieved when I see the weekly WWE RAW update. That's up there with the daily television happenings of the XX Winter Olympics Games on NBC.

Perhaps Oldvnewschool and Joseph Gallant should get together and discuss over a cup o' Joe. (pun intended).

Now, now, now. Gallant at least does not speculate on phony "sports" that were passe in 1999.

Re: WWE

I enjoy the WWE talk on this board. People continue to bash wrestling but they still manage to rake in the ratings, which nobody gives it credit for.

USA should air either Heat or Velocity, the WWE weekend shows sometime, because it is kind of a disgrace to have to watch it online at this point.

We don't need weekly updates on the numbers RAW pulls on USA. We know RAW is a strong product.

Now, If RAW started tanking, THEN that would be something to talk about.

They can't air Velocity because of the brand split. UPN/The CW doesn't want "their" stars appearing on USA or NBC. This is why Saturday Night's Main Event in March will be almost entirely a RAW-brand show.

They could air Heat, but WWE chose to do a condensed version of RAW with their weekend timeslot instead. This stinks if one isn't a Windows/IE user, because WWE's online content won't run in anything else.

Yes, but with the "Sports-entertainment" products history of ups and downs, combined with the ever changing content of what is opposite it (i.e. monday night football, college hoops, olympics) and the occasional pre emption (dog show), this is a time of year to take a look at the numbers.

So far, Vince is holding his own, albeit the "road to Wrestlemania" is one of the more watched times of the year. Will be interesting to see how the summer shakes out....

You have a point there. Both "Raw" and "Smackdown" are pulling in great ratings this season, so there is a valid reason for having this discussion.

Interesting stuff

I too feel that this summer will tell how strong at least WWE RAW is

because USA will have to pre-empt for the US Open

and on top of that there will be new episodes of Monk and The Dead Zone

that can bring in new viewers for people to watch the WWE

Monday Night Football on ESPN is supposed to start 30 minutes sooner than it did on ABC. It will be interesting to see if this will have any impact on Raw's ratings in the Eastern and Central time zones this fall.

Heaven forbid someone bring up a popular cable shows ratings on a national tv board.

Maybe when the "get it" train makes another trip around, you'll catch it. Geez.

Maybe I'll start creating weekly threads on the ratings for (insert any show here).

WHAT?!?!

ONE preemption will NOT send the ratings into the toilet. It's not a matter of the potential, it's a matter of IF they can sustain and build on what they have now.

Umm...nice try. New episodes of "Monk" run on Friday evenings. "Dead Zone" airs on Sunday evenings. It doesn't matter how many promos for WWE you run during those shows. If it doesn't appeal to the demographic, they ain't gonna tune in. It's not rocket science.

Monk viewers --> WWE Viewers = obsessive-compulsive wrestling fans.

Can Armageddon be far behind?

<grin>
