WWE RELEASES

In an unexpected turn of events, WWE has been laying people off.
Well top star Braun Stroman and A Black have been let go too.

yeah, well, WWE has been doing releases a lot lately, they had a huge mass release on April 15 of last year dubbed "Black Wednesday" then they had another one earlier this year dubbed "Black Thursday" and then 2 weeks ago, they released a few NXT talents, including a ref who was 100% QAnon and a star who had a some sexual misconduct with minors that the story first broke in April of last year only for the Speaking Out Scandal (the wrestling world's #MeToo movement) to feature him getting outted some more.

this release may have given creditability of the possibility that WWE might be going to be sold soon and NBCUniversal may end up being the buyer and Disney and possibly the Saudi Royal Family may be in the running to try to out bid NBCUniversal/Comcast for it.

meanwhile this comes at a time where AEW is now turning into a main threat to WWE.

Is AEW starting to do the same mistakes WCW did? I mean back in the days WCW started hiring former WWF/WWE superstars like Hulk Hogan, Macho man ect ect.

AEW is starting to do the same, Vickie Guerrero, Jack Swagger, Y2J, Rusev, Mark Henry, Sting, Matt Hardy, Andrade, Dean Ambrois, and some other ones I can’t think of their names now.

right now, they haven't gone full TNA Wrestling in signing every single ex-WWE star they can, and besides Ambrose aka Moxley has been with the company since it's very first event, AEW seems to be doing better at booking these ex-WWE talents, Henry is gonna be apart of the commentary for their soon to launch show Rampage, and besides AEW seems to know how to build their homegrown talents, 2 years ago, nobody knew who Hikaru Shida, Jungle Boy (outside the fact he's Luke Perry's son), Chuck Taylor, Orange Cassidy, Dr. Britt Baker, Darby Allin and a few others were. now we know Shida as the former Women's champ who had the longest reign in AEW so far holding the belt for over a year until last weekend, we also know Baker as a women's champ who just also is a license dentist (i'm not making that stuff up), Jungle Boy is a rising star despite being the son of a acting legend who we lost too soon, we now know Taylor as one half of one the best tag teams in AEW, Best Friends with another ex-WWE guy who saw his career explode in great fashion in NJPW and now AEW in Trent? (aka Trent Barretta), Orange Cassidy got over as a lazy and chill wrestler who when motivated can pull off good matches in fact, he was in the AEW World title match at Double or Nothing last weekend with Kenny Omega (a wrestler who made a name for himself in Japan for NJPW) defending his AEW World Championship in a triple threat against him and another ex-WWE talent who too is having a better career away from WWE in PAC (FKA Neville) and Darby Allin has won the hearts of the fans over with him taking some extreme moves and being a get fighter.|

so yeah, AEW has been hiring ex-WWE talents, but they also have done a lot in creating stars in talents who the die hard wrestling fans knew from the Indies, Japan and Mexico as well as the UK and Canada. plus AEW does have it's connections to WCW in the sons of Dusty Rhodes Cody and Dustin, and also being on TNT (and soon TBS) which did air WCW programming.

AEW only had under 500,000 viewers last friday night for their main show imagine the ratings their second show Rampage will receive once they debut under 500,000 at best and 100,000 or under at worse?

Yes...but that was against WWE Smackdown! on FOX, plus their usual home is on Wednesday.
yeah, AEW was airing Dynamite in the Friday Night death slot, which for a 2 hour wrestling show which was live, was not good, plus it was the post-PPV edition and yet it drew it's worst rating yet due to fans forgetting it's not on Wednesdays during the NBA Playoffs, that's the main reason AEW is moving Dynamite to TBS next year.

and on top of that, DirecTV has East Coast and West Coast feeds of TNT and DirecTV customers in the west coast has a choice, watch Dynamite live on the East Coast feed at 7 PM PT or wait until 10 PM PT to watch Dynamite, and if you chose to watch the East Coast feed, you may be willing to miss the first hour of SmackDown at 8 PM PT unless you watch it on the Fox Sports app live at 5 PM PT.
