WWE WrestleMania DVDs and Music Rights?

I recently bought the 5-disc box sex from WWE Home Video which contains "WWE WrestleMania" 1 through 5 (1985 to 1989) in their entirety. While the program on each DVD is largely how the show originally aired, there were two VERY obvious things I couldn't help but notice:

1- While the old-school "WWF" logo and the wording and verbal pronounciation of "World Wrestling Federation" were OK, not once did you hear "W-W-F". That's because of the lawsuit WWE lost to the World Wildlife Fund around 2002.

2- Some of the original ring music was changed or edited out. Using "WWE WrestleMania V" (1989) as an example, you didn't hear Demolition's entrance music or "Jive Soul Bro", the ring music for manager "The Doctor Of Style" Slick (Kenneth Johnson).

Going by the opening signature on each DVD, the discs were produced in the middle of 2005. The current signature you see at the beginning of every WWE program now started getting used on October 3, 2005 when "WWE Raw" went back to USA Network.

In closing, there were two other minor things left in by WWE...1- Gorilla Monsoon (the late Geno Marella) mentioning Jesse "The Body" Ventura's then-upcoming appearance in "Predator", mentioning a release date of June 5, 1987 (during "WWE WrestleMania III") and the entire ad for Hulk Hogan's big movie stinker "No Holds Barred" from 1989 (during "WWE WrestleMania V"). I noticed how the "WWE" bug went off the screen during that advertisment.<P ID="signature">______________

I guess for the movie promos it was ok

as far the mention of the WWF during the 80's I didn't hear a lot of mention

to the W-W-F during the time when Monsoon was on board anyway

I guess when they had their first agreement with the World Wildlife Fund

that's when it mas mentioned in and about

as far as the music

They must have been done by outside musicians demanding royalties every time

it got played on DVD and the WWE needs to save it's money.

(Sorry, but I so cringe every time I see a WWE posting. I know I'm biased. But gawd I hate WWE wrestling, the same way others hate Star Trek when I bring it up.)

I'll try to be nicer.
And BTW: I think the whole lawsuit over WWF by the "World Widelife Federation" was itself pretty stoooopid! I mean, does anybody really confuse the two groups? WWE is more like a corporate logo. And when I see the logo on TV, they usually only hve the "WW" now, and no E or F. Not sure why, but I have bias toward "Federation." It has a whole "league" feeling around it. Mabye we should call it the World Wrestling League? No, then the MLB would go sue.

I did say I'd try to be nice, didn't I?
 
I simply thought WWE tries to keep most of their music production in-house to help cut costs. Listening to a good deal of the "WWE Anthology" 3-disc CD set from 2002 gave the listener a good idea of that. As a striking coincidence, Slick's "Jive Soul Bro" song didn't appear on those CDs either. Hmmmm! Anyways, am I the only one who's more interested in the technical side of a WWE production, rather than the wrestling...most of the time? <P ID="signature">______________
