Mr. Solie was in public, just what he was on the air. Professional man, courteous to the fans. The only guy who ever knocked him publicly was Ole Anderson, and I'm not really sure why, but then again Ole pretty much torched everyone, ala Cosell, lol.
There has been much praise of Mr. Solie in lieu of his Hall of Fame admission. Here in Tampa, I've never heard a harsh word about him, and this is from people who not only saw him on TV, but met him in public or at the tapings.
The Adamle hire bugs me. McMahon really doesnt like ECW and keeps it alive to keep a third stable of wrestlers from going to TNA..where, they would be burned out of the program after four weeks, lol...but , Lord, Adamle is painful to listen to.
I almost wish Adamle would take the path described by Mr Solie as "Five letters...two words..I quit."

Hands Down, Gordon Solie was the best Pro Wrestling Announcer of the 20th Century. ;D
It's a shame to here how Ole Anderson can treat people, including announcers, less than him.
I can imagine the first thing he will do if he gets inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame is ripped the Briscos a new one.
Of course WTBS had some great annoucers over the years: Freddie Miller, Tony Schivoane, Jim Ross, Mike Tenay, but no one could ever give more
than what he had to give than Gordon Solie with his delivery and vast vocabulary on the sport is unmatched.
I doubt Mike Adamale would know a wrist watch from a hamburger ;D

...Solie was great, but he was at his best when he teamed with Caudle, while Caudle was just as solid on both solo and team duty. And in his later years, when WCW tried radio simulcasts of their PPVs, he was assigned to the radio team and was painful to listen to without the visuals. ...another one that was very good that I have not enough material of was Larry Nelson of the mid-'80s AWA, who came in after WWF hired away Ken Resnick (that's right, McMahon actually improved AWA TV with one of his raid hires). Nelson was the last great one Gagne had; when he left, Gagne was stuck with Rod Tronguard, the weakest hold-by-hold commentator the AWA ever had, and Lee Marshall, who was very good but seemed to have more energy than everyone around him. It wasn't until RodgerKent returned from his WWF stint that AWA TV became really watchable again...
