WWFE, WRHC, WRIZ

HAS ANYBODY NOTICED THAT WWFE 670 IS SIMULCASTING ON WRHC 1550?

THEY ARE OWNED BY THE SAME COMPANY.

SO WHAT DO YOU THINK IS GOING ON THERE??

AND DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT WRIZ 1550 WAS BEFORE IT BECAME WRHC IN 1973??

I HOPE WRHC IS NOT CHANGING IT LEGENDARY SPANISH TALK FORMAT??!!

THANKS T.J.

Yes I remember WRIZ. Before it was Spanish WRIZ was Middle of the Road, then Country owned by Jack Roth's Mission Broadcasting. Around 1967 or 1968 WRIZ swapped with WAME 1260. The WAME calls went to Charlotte and WWOK which had been in Charlotte came here. Both the Charlotte station and Miami station was owned by Mission. 1550 was R&B for a short time before going Spanish. On 1550 at signoff one night listeners were told to listen to a piece of a song called "Western Union" by The 5 Americans. There was a dit, dit, dit, piece in the song and they played a loop of it. That's how WWOK 1260 was born. I heard it when it happened.
