WWGA-FM (98.9) Debuts Permanent Format

WWGA-FM in West Georgia signed on the air several weeks ago with Christmas music. Starting today, it debuted its permanent format, Classic Hits.

And by that they mean Classic Rock without the hard stuff, similar to 97-1 The River. At 12:01AM, Great Classics 98.9 started playing 10,000 songs in a row. Mornings and afternoons will be handled by Bobby Gaines and Keith Edwards, respectively.

Caller 10 commented, "With a frequency of 98.9, I have a good idea of something they could do to build their ratings." Good Times and Great Oldies remarked, "This sounds like a great station. I hear they're talking to Randy & Spiff." And Neil Millman said, "Just another station that I could program to #1."
