WWGY Grove City

Found out that this station carries the Steeler games up here in Grove City, so I got interested as to what else this station carries besides its usual country music.

When looking for a website by searching "WWGY 95.1 FM," nothing turns up. Rather, WWGY's only functioning webpage is from a former moniker and call letter stage, WICT 95.1 The Cat. While looking through this page, it mentions that WICT is owned and operated by Forever broadcasting (hence the "new Froggy 95" moniker used today). Then, at the bottom of the page, a copyright 2005 from Clear Channel Communications!

Is Forever this sloppy with keeping updated webpages? Why is Clear Channel involved with this webpage?

Despite the Forever mention underneath the logo, the webpage is indeed Clear Channel's page for the station - back when they owned it, with the WICT calls.

The address listed on the page is the former Clear Channel studio facility out in Brookfield, in that glass building next to the Brookfield Township Administration Center, at the intersection of Ohio 82 and Ohio 7.

Clear Channel isn't involved with the page in question...they just never bothered to shut it off. :D Consider it Internet artifact...

FWIW, I believe Forever now operates 95.1 out of studios in New Castle, along with WKST/1200 and WBZY/1280, which they also bought from Clear Channel. It targets Mercer and Lawrence Counties.

Just some fact correction here, WICT (now WWGY) Grove City was never really owned by Clear Channel but was one of the four Gocom owned stations in the Youngstown OH. market. Gocom LMA'd WICT,WNCD,WAKZ and WNIO-AM to CC proposing to to purchase all four . The FCC would'nt let them have all four saying they would control too much market share in Y-town. After a four year battle they wound up spinning off WICT to Forever to make the deal for the other three Gocom station happen.
