WWHK-FM Concord Off The Air Again?

It appears that WWHK in Concord is off the air again. Do you guys think its because of technical difficulties or are they off until the new owner takes over?

New owner,is the old owner Jeff Shapiro, and the station has sounded a little fuzzy and fluttery in the past few days. Proabbly rechnical difficulties.

It was probably because the computer is at the transmitter site and the audio isn't downgraded from being linked from the studio. Also I think they are still off-air I wonder if its gonna be like this until the buyer takes over?

Since there are no commercials, why spend the money to keep it running, especially when a new owner will (hopefully) have the keys shortly? They fired it up to keep the license alive, thats all.
I predicted quite awhile ago that Summereau (sp?) may not close on 102.3...a million bucks for that signal sounds even more overpriced now than it did last year. Anyone know why this hasn't closed yet?

whoever actually owns it, and informed sources say Jeff Shapiro, 102.3 is back on the air...

,,,for now.

Undoubtedly it was a maneuver by Nassau to avoid losing their escrow. They couldn't close, didn't want to lose their near-million, so they assigned the contract before the clock ran out. There probably was no intention by Summerau to close before "selling" it again.

They Seem To Be Back But With A Really Weak Signal. 102.3 Used To Come Booming In To My Area But Now Its All Staticy And Unlistenable. I Wonder If That Fluttering Sound That People Were Talking About Could Have Been The Transmitter Failing. I Can Get 105.5 And 103.1 (Translator For WZID HD-2) Fine. There Is Deffinetly Something On 102.3 But Its Too Staticy To Tell What It Is. All I Know Is That It Was Some Classic Rock Tune.

I don't know the extent of the damage, so I can't say how long repairs will take.

If it happened after Mr. Shapiro and Nassau came to an agreement, this may be why it has not been announced. Arguing over who has to fix it. I can't see Summeraeu/Nassau investing any more money into it. Although they might have to drop their already low price. That's assuming it's a transmitter failure and something is actually broken. I find it curious that they have a facility in the upper valley with a failure and now another on in Concord failing. Coincidence? No matter what, I don't see a fix until the new owner takes over.

The signal comes in ok just not nearly as strong as it used to be. Plus the RDS is gone, the EQ is different, And I can barely pick it up where I live anymore. So they must either be running from another site or at reduced power.
