WWIQ ends tonight

I hope everyone will run tape and post the audio of the format change here.

Don't expect too much hype. Simple switch on the bird, last person out of the Fortress please turn off the lights...

That was one of the strangest sign offs ever WWIQ Camden Philadelphia Fishtown The World So Long. Dick Clark ended every Bandstand show with So Long.

Is K--Love on the air ? call lettters stilll WWIQ ? do they do any local news, weather, traffic, sports ?

K-love, to my knowledge, is a 100% national feed, the only exclusions being sponsors and station id.

Oddly, they are broadcasting as "Philadelphia's Positive Encouraging K-Love: 106.9 WKVP Camden." I didn't find any filings on changing the calls, however. I am not within range for 89.5, so I can't say what id they're broadcasting.

89.5 is broadcasting the same feed and same ID (106.9 WKVP) a few seconds behind 106.9.

89.5 (at least over the internet stream) is using WYPA now, which sounds like Air1 calls. I didn't catch 106.9, but I assume they're still using WKVP like this morning.

Air1 will be on 89.5 soon.. My guess is they will switch 89.5 to a loop to encourage folks to move to 106.9 ... or they will briefly leave KLove on 89.5 to give people the time to find the new station.

Regarding local.. EMF does public affairs programming targeting the local area (This usually airs in a Sunday evening time slot).

EMF uses the WEGENER iPump 6420 satellite system -- They do have the ability to do local inserts - concert promotions etc.. EMF will also likely have a local promotions person who will be at concerts in the area etc.

The quality is crap. No bass, distorted mids and highs, not loud and lousy separation.
That's what happens when you don't ground anything, like your transmitter or rack.
