WWL-4 Anchor Studio Moved To Baton Rouge's WLPB

After several days of originating their coverage of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina from a TV studio on the campus of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, WWL-4 has moved the main origination point of it's hurricane coverage.

WWL is now broadcasting it's coverage from one of the studios of WLPB-27, also in Baton Rouge, the flagship of Louisiana Public Broadcasting.

Watching the webstream, it appears that WWL also has their "regular" graphics back. Perhaps WLPB has a chyron with which WWL personnel were able to "re-create" the style and font of the graphics WWL would normally use at their main studio in New Orleans.

The WWL signal should be available across the entire LPB network of stations.

Hasn't LPB been simulcasting WWL-4's coverage of the storm since Saturday (August 27th) or Sunday (August 28th)??

That I don't know. I only heard mention of it last night. No info on the LPB website.

According to the LPB site:

Louisiana Public Broadcasting and WWL-TV are teaming up to provide daily coverage of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina: 4:30-5:30PM daily on the six-station LPB network (WLPB-27 Baton Rouge, KLPA-25 Alexandria, KLPB-24 Lafayette, KLTM-13 Monroe, KLTL-18 Lake Charles, & KLTS-24 Shreveport).

In addition, live coverage from WWL-TV is also airing on LPB Kids and You (Cox Cable 11 in Baton Rouge) all day except during the children’s programming block which runs from 5:30-9:00PM. 5:30-9:00PM remains regular children's programming.
