WWL-FM

Does anyone know if WWL-FM has gone to full power or not. Working on an offshore supply boat I get to recive a lot of stations from the gulf coast, Mexico, and centeral america. I could get 105.3 around 30 miles south of Grand Isle pre-K now I atart to loose the signal at Leeville, and just past Houma . Any Thoughts? ???

Also I Heard Rod Ryan on 94.5 in Houston But the show is different from his show on WRNO. So houston is also suffering.

i cant pick up wwl fm in livingston. i use to be able to pick up 105.3 all the way to mccomb ms. now a rock station out of shreveport comes in there..

No rock station from shreveport on 105.3 ... But what you are hearing is KLIP, a classic hits station from Monroe

But yeah either the tropo is kicking (which it is) or they are finally running full power on 105.3 and 99.5 (which pre K shared the same antenna) as they were both heard pretty good in Morgan City tonight (which is supposed to be their normal fringe due to 105.1 KPEL around Lafayette)

sorry about that. i just heard zeppelin last time i checked and assumed it was classic rock. actually when i heard it it was playing the same stuff that eagle plays. at least i knew it was in north louisiana :). thanks for the info.

I find some of the classic hit stations can be mistaken for a classic rock station as the playlists are similar to Eagle 98.1's . That's why I don't reference Eagle as classic rock but what it and KZMZ have both morphed into.. classic hit/classic rock hybreds (as the term classic rock has gone to mean usually a harder edged classic playlist without say the beatles)

I would joke and say lets bring back what WCKW AM was for a time... a actual Psychedelic rock station. That's all they played for a few months I want to say in the late 1980s-early 1990s (after country?) before simucasting with WCKW-FM before being "given" to a river pasrish group for religious purposes.

Former alum of CKW can clear this up for me exactly....
