I hear from reliable sources that he has been sent away...any truth? If so it just shows that a certain corporation ownership in New Orleans is just swirling further down the toilet bowl...

Phil goes to Entercom properties in Indianapolis...FYI

Look for the replacement to be named soon. It
will surprise some people who the new person is.
Entercom is bringing in someone with a reputation
for rebuilding stations and making them profitable.
New Orleans will be a tough job for the next few
years. Entercom has some great stations but not
much revenue now and they won't for a long time.
Much of the staff is gone as are the listeners.
Phil went through a lot over the last few months
and probably is looking forward to something new.

Well hopefully this new person will be good and see what a big looser they've got in their current PD's, especially mike kaplan. what a joke!

that guy has done NOTHING for b97 except make it sound so unlistenable. the station voice is sickening, like he needs to clear his throat. no jingles?? they are the signature of a radio station. no jingles=no personality. he brings in people off the street and makes them dj's....... save money huh? hahahahaha <P ID="signature">______________

Amen Sam,... I agree!!! I don't enjoy the station anymore. It's a shame they can't seem to find a PD that actually RESPECTS the heritage of the station and makes it sound like a true CHR powerhouse.

Who is the voice anyways?! I listened for the first time in months and he's horrible... like he needs his voice "pimped out!" Clear your throat man! LOL

And maybe they'll do something about Bob Mitchell before the oldies station comes back online.

Hey. What's Up.
Tyler, former B97 afternoons.

Thanks for having a pretty freakin' unique viewpoint of Entercom, man.
That matters.

But, I gotta throw my thoughts in the bucket here, too.

I worked for Kaplan. That's my justification for what I have to say.

You aren't the PD.
B97 doesn't have "jingles" because you aren't the PD.
Jingles are old-school.
The station voice is obviously memorable. (see the post immediately before mine for proof)
and oh yeah, I absolutely love jingles. No lie. I've been trying to ingratiate jingles on B97 for a long time. I'm on your side. But alas....

We both are not the PD.

Thanks for listening enough to notice our voice guy. :)
Where's a diary when you need one? lol

oh yeah, and for kicks, here's a link to the last jingle package that was on B97. It's an easily available demo. Reelworld/Seattle.
Your comments on why it's good/bad, or what kind of jingles you like...and think fit B97...would be absolutely welcome anytime. Seriously. If you're thinking it, that means somebody else just might be as well...

Also, we've ingratiated our jingles in a more aside manner, and the links below are examples of that...currently on the air.

Again, nothing here you can't find on the net or on the air...to clarify
Much love, no hate, and All the Hits,
Tyler. lol.

i understand i am not the PD and there's a reason I'm not PD... lol i'm retired after 29 years in the business, but i was once a PD.

the only reason i suggested jingles 'cause it's nice to hear. it's kind of a peak at B-97's past, if you will. the station was a hugely successful ratings giant back before EZ Communications made a bad decision. they made it a hot talker! yick!

plus, let us not forget about the #1 CHR in the country... Z-100, new york.
they've got jingles, why not the B? it would be nice to hear.

glad to see you like jingles as i do! nice.
