WWL in WRNO's sights

WRNO beat WWL in men 25-54 and 18-34 in the latest book. They are closing the gap. Will WWL ever get the message? No need to change, everything is just fine.

WIST cruised in with a 0.8.

WGSO didn't even crack the ratings.

It's a two horse race and RNO seems to have the momentum. But I doubt WWL even realizes it.

Over all 12+
WWL still leads with 6.5 vs WRNO's 4.4
BUT
Men 25-54, M-F, 6am-7pm, RNO went from 4.1 to 7.1. WWL is 6.6
Men 25-54, M-Sun, 6am-midnight, RNO went from 3.4 to 6.1. WWL is 5.8

The argument can be made that Rush is driving the M-F rating, but RNO is holding their ground through the weekend.

Will WWL ever realize they need new on air talent? They are old and stale. It's time to make changes. Or do they need to lose more ground first?

Of course, what do you expect when you have straw alleged programmers like Diane Newman and Andy Holt in an outfit, where they know nothing more than how to babysit a cluster of stations that were dropped in their laps when the stations were riding high. Now that the bottom is eroding out quickly, and they have to come up with competitive answers on how to pull their dying stations out of the muck, they haven't the foggiest clue what to do to nurture younger listeners and lay groundwork for the future. Gee, could it be the burnt-out list of alleged talent from the '70's and '80's being offered to listeners who are leaving their stations, especially WWL, in droves because of tired out 60 and 70 year old hacks and their crap programming that younger listeners have no identification with?

And then watch when it is announced in the near future that a certain Mr. Benson is already in almost-final negotiations with a lesser cluster to brings his teams over to be broadcast under his own wing. That's when the fat rats are gonna jump ship across town. Especially the bloated nothing Bobby Hebert.

Gonna be a fun fall for radio...and I DO mean FALL.
