WWL/Paul Rasmussen

From an earlier post:

"do you all remember a former WWL AM news reporter Paul Rasmussen? I know he left when Entercom started making changes to the station in 2000. Since then I have only been hearing him do radio commercials, and he is the voice of opening up many of the shows on Biz Radio 990 AM, like the Bob Christopher (another former WWL AM personality) show, and the sportstalk lineup each night. I am surprised they don't have him as a news reporter, especially since Dave Haley (what happened to him?) left the afternoon news program sometime in the last half-year or so. Rasmussen was by far the best reporter on WWL, and I'd have voted him in as host of the WWL morning news a LONG time ago. It's amazing that buffoon Bob DelGiorno is allowed to just get on the air 4 hours per weekday morning and babble on about his personal life, and yet claim the prestigious title as "news anchor" when he doesn't do an ounce of reporting."

Just ran across this thread as I was browsing the Louisiana board. Thanks for the kind words. I miss NOLA, but enjoy living in Jacksonville, Florida. Moved here in the summer of 2000 to work for Cox, wound up leaving there in '03 and now with Clear Channel as news director for their seven station cluster. Have been doing voiceovers/liners for GSO for some time now, mainly due to my work w/ Bob Christopher when we were both at WWL.

Thanks again for the thumbs up. I've often told people the success I enjoyed at WWL was due to the fact it's a great radio station. Lots of good people working there. I owe Bob Christopher the credit for giving me the chance to work in the newsrooom.<P ID="signature">______________

I think their entire local talk line-up and even their newscasts
have gone to crap. You've heard of the saying "style over substance"?
Well, they have neither.
