WWL Radio celebrates it's 100th anniversary

I was in Louisiana last week and heard much of WWL's special anniversary program during the day on March 31. They interviewed many former and current station employees, public figures and others. They talked a lot about the Saints and coverage of Hurricane Katrina and other storms. They even re-enacted WWL's first broadcast at 10:52 a.m., an announcement from Loyola University. It seems that 1922 was the first year for many of the best-known clear channel stations, but WWL devoted more time to its anniversary than most stations.
