I attempted to hear WWL several times Monday, with no luck. The shortwave transmitter they are using comes in here during the day frequently, but no luck this time. Anybody else pull them in?

Also, is this the old WRNO-international transmitting facility? They had a powerhouse signal into my area (northern Delaware)when they were simucasting WRNO-FM.

No, this is a relay via WHRI Cypress Creek SC, apparently pulling the signal right off the webcast. WRNO Worldwide has been off the air for several years. <P ID="signature">______________

WRNO was sold years ago and then sold again. It's nominally a Christian station now with more predictions than Nostradamus about when it would resume operation. It's really off the air now.

Re: WWL-Shortwave - Does Anybody Know??

Hi,

OK, so WWL is on shortwave (which, incidentally I believe is an exellent idea). But does anybody but the radio and shortwave geeks know about it. Has it been publicized at all outside of the station itself? And does anybody who might be interested (like those outside of New Orleans) have the equipment to receive it?

John.

I have seen the SW broadcast schedule posted in several newspapers OUT of the local New Orleans area.
