WWLR 91.5 Fm Northeast Kingdom off the air for 1/2 hour.. 10:30-11pm 10-11-07

for those die hard radio nuts that like to see what you can pick up when on stations off the air, 91.5 up here in lyndonville will be off due to an expected power outage for the town. Let me know if any of you guys are in the area might pick up.) my guess is WGLY 91.5 from bolton VT will dominate up through the white mountains and cover a large amount of the area with 91.5 wrbc from ME bouncing a bit of the green mountains possibly ...

I appologise for the inconvience ahead of time but WWLR will be off the air during the time the power outage is at LSC. allthough our studio/automation is Back uped with APC's aur UV meter which heads up to our transmitter and our huge transmitter on top Of Vail Hill will be without back up. our transmitter is 3,000 so it takes a little more than an apc to back it up

Re: WWLR 91.5 Fm Northeast Kingdom off the air for 1/2 hour.. 10:30-11pm 10-11-0

I couldn't get 91.5 WGLY but instead, I got CBMB 91.7 fm clearly overlapping onto 91.5 on my walkman. Yikes! I also had a little trace of WEVO's relay on 91.3 from littleton. No trace of WEVH from Hanover. On my car 91.5 there was nothing but static. Down in the station, our automation was only backed up by apc's for 20 min so i had to restart our whole simian program ( automation ) when the power came back on. until I fixed simian, I used my Mac laptop with itunes and liners legal Id's so when the power came back It would run and It did, since our Board was backed up on another APC that lasted throughout the power outage of a little more than 1 hour. It was a fun little blackout and it a good teaching for me on how to try to get the least amount of dead air. Its too bad WWLR does not have the money to afford a back-up generator or APC's for our transmitter to keep the station running in a black out because it would be nice if we did.
enough of my rant  Enjoy the weekend
