WWLV Love Songs returned to South Bend this morning on 1620 AM and stopped "STINK[ing]." Finally, AMP is trying something right (<small print> we hope). Good audio. Not sure if their new transmitter is running or not, but the audio sure sounds better than they ever had.
Music 60s-90s Light Contemporary.

It sounds good and they are doing something right..... sure AMP didn't sell the station in that case?

It's good to hear that they are doing local content on the station now. I'll have to take a listen when I'm in northern Indiana next time. So, is it pretty close to the same format, presentation, etc. to 102.3 when that station was doing the format or is it completely different? Any jocks, syndicated programming, etc.?

To me, soft AC (with a love theme) was the logical choice with the station since it's, more or less, the next step up from adult standards. I wish AMP South Bend the best of luck with the new format.

Right now that station is automated (but on Saturday-commercials were started and Big Band Jump (from the old WHLY) is being broadcast still (Saturday in the afternoon). Thursday and Friday seemed to have 24 hours of almost non-repeat automated local music. The format is pretty much the same as 102.3 FM had (maybe more music). No Live DJ's yet--I hope that it will happen. This does seem to be a major improvement for the station. I hope that this time it will last. Any news on 1580s future now that 1490 is Sports Center ESPN?

1580 has no future. Its license will be surrendered shortly as part of the expanded band rules stating only it or 1620 can be kept past five years, and Artistic Radio will keep WWLV 1620.
