WWMM it's official.... Live 100.5 Modern Music

I'm wondering about the speculation that Dave Rossi may be coming back.

i'd hate to have to sell that.

105.5 rates lower than djc in the last 4 quarters and it seems to be the station that "modern alternative" rockers love.

they better have some "modern" rock that is hits rather than the old "alternative" that has been swirling around the bowl lately.

go figure.

hell, even the citadel corporate website doesn't list it.

modern....music. Great. What is that supposed to be? LOL.

I've got to be at a client at 10...i'll wait to wait... : /

I'd love to see something like "the sound" in LA...(someone here put me onto that, not bad)
i also love nashville's lightning 100 and to a lesser extent now 92zew in mobile.
drop the classic rock and i'd listen more....but i'm not everyone : /

i looked at the first hour's playlist on the blog....the only thing that's missing in my opinion is a light rotation of some OLD dave matthews band. me, personally, i still get a little burnt out on AAA from the same songs over and over again - so mix some of the old stuff back in too...

Modern rock is not the same as AAA, which is what it looks like WWMM effectively is. Modern rock targets 18-34 males while AAA targets 25-54 and usually splits about 60-40 female/male. No, it's not the easiest format to sell, but it's much easier to sell than modern rock, especially when the ratings are decent. That will be the big challenge with that signal.

yah...i thought about that as i was going to lunch - talking heads wouldn't be considered "modern" at all. This is, for all intents and purposes, AAA - - and as for selling, one thing i've noticed is the varity seems to be much better than most other AAA stations i've tuned in (it's not even 6 hours old, way too soon to really be speaking that) - but the MIX seems better. Time will tell. If Reg/Scott has anything to do with this (and I suspect he does) - he's already got quite the following. I suspect thats what Corp america was acknowleding when the decision was made to launch this station.

I, too, am concerned about the plug being yanked in six months and if it does, if it will yank Scott too. Seems a huge risk to take...but sometimes that what you have to do.

Good luck...we shall see

Well, whatya know...there's actually a AAA station in Birmingham. I thought I'd never see the day.

I really figured Citadel was going to throw another AC station out there since those new call letters sure looked like "Warm" to me, lol.
But the calls are reflective of the new format, after all. "MM" stands for "modern music" and not "Mickey Mouse". :D
That's ok, Mickey Mouse has his own set of problems he's dealing with today, anyhow. :D

Does Citadel own any other AAA stations elsewhere?

Forgive a statement of the obvious, but it's all about sales. Like the station? Figure out the real power sponsors (nationals don't count) and make the effort to support them. Austin's long-time AAA KGSR sells buckets of ads with not-so-hot ratings.

On another thought, anyone remember how the Tuscaloosa ratings stood when WANZ/The-X was on this signal? I've been playing the stream for my office assistant today (21-yr-old LSU student) and she thinks it's great.

Too bad that the feed doesn't work on a mac unless you install flip4mac which will leave a watermark on any videos you import from a pc to an apple. Not worth installing flip4mac. Too bad the feed couldn't be on something that wasn't just for PC's.

If I were to regularly listen to rock...I think I'd listen to this station. I like what I'm hearing so far.

I'm not going to say it's the best AAA station i've heard yet....but i am very much liking the old, the new...they're just not playing enough of the old.

Oh...I did hear David Grey's Babylon repeat already....once around 12-12:30, and once around 6.

Darn...

(not complaining...just....well....nevermind)

okee - there's the cure - just like heaven. it's 8:18. That song came out in 1987. Therefore you can play the talking heads too.... : /
