WWMY 102.3 FM

Is WWMY 102.3 on the air? I ask because the soon-to-be-Hillsborough, NC-licensed WKXU 102.5 in Louisburg has been off several days, and I know there's a CP to move WWMY to Smithfield. I'm not able to hear them in Durham, but they're not always audible here.

WWMY 102.3 FM Update (see WKXU/WWMY thread at Raleigh/Greensboro)

On 23 Oct. 2010, WWMY 102.3 (now WWPL) broke off its simulcast of KIX 102.9 as part of its move from Goldsboro to Smithfield, and is now stunting with its new simulcast partner, WKXU (now WPLW) 102.5, which, at the same time, moved from its former home in Louisburg to its new home in Hillsborough. No word on what the new format will be or when it will launch, but they are currently stunting a Halloween-themed loop featuring "Ghostbusters," Stevie Wonder's "Superstition," Michael Jackson's "Thriller," and the Monster Mash, with the new station ID thrown in between the Monster Mash and "Ghostbusters."

I am listening to the stream from their Facebook page. So far, I like the format and it will be interesting to see what kind of dent they put in G. With both signals, I would imagine that will give them a competitive signal.
