WWNQ IS GOING CHR! For Real!

This has little to do with WWNQ going CHR. As for people getting fired, quitting, let go, having to leave, or what have you and who they owe something or someone too. That is some times a very tough question if your the person on the outside looking in and not that person. Lately people have been laided off, fired, transffered, moved around or what have you reguardless of their talent level, dedication to a company, time on the air, work at any level, or what have you simply to save having to pay that persons salary (especially if it's large) and increase profits for that company or so they think, often at the expense of good talent and almost always lowering the quality of what you hear and or see. This is not always the case but in the last few years or more with technology and automation increasing and an economy that still flat sucks saying a person was done this way or that isn't always as simple as you might think. Yes in think almost everyone owes something to some one or two or three or what have you, it's called learning, teaching, and working together, it's what use to make the world work, I hope it still does. It doesn't matter what the other guy does, what matters is what you do and while your at it do it the best you can, if you get credit for it good but remember life isn't always fair and here lately that's more true than not.
 
I usually don't post comments that much. I thought this was a professional post. I checked in to see the status on the WWNQ update. I was shocked to see all the name slinging. People on here use an undisclosed name to voice opinions. They do not need their name brought out and dragged around. Through my years I have worked at most of the top stations in columbia and a few in Augusta. I have trained several people as well. Through my experiences not everyone likes you on air. Lot's do. You know what they say about opinions! All 89 did was make a post with his opinion. He has that right. Noticed BigGus had to make a personal attack. Big Gus, sounds like you are a bit unsure about"YOUR" own performance on the air. I'm sure everybody did not like you as well. You need to leave Ed (89) and others as well alone. He did nothing to you. Heard e sermon recently that would apply to you. When we feel low self esteem on ourselves, we look for someone else we feel is not as good as you. Is this why you picked up on Ed. Sounds like he is a much better person than you are. Bet you only got as far as Augusta radio. Nuf said! I have worked with the BIG BOYS in Columbia and Augusta. We would have had no room for your ego and such. I had the pleasure of working with some of the best and it was always teamwork, not the individual. And by the way, I have not met Ed personally, But he has a great personality. That's what counts. Shame on you BigGusRadio.......

You are totally correct. The personal comments I made was wrong I'm sorry to 89 (Ed) for those comments and anyone I offended. I got carried away by the comments made on Tim Miller who is a friend of mine. I found out today that he was made aware of all postings and talk about 94 going CHR and related comments. Well, I got my ass chewed for making these comments on here and everything he said to me made sense. Please accecpt my apology.
 
All good in the hood, Gus. Like I've maintained, in my experience Tim's always been even handed and a class act...even when delivering an ass-chewing. lol. Let's all have a group hug. ;)
 
....yes this thread has been something.... I for one have been listening off & on to 94.3 online the past week or so and have liked what I have heard...some cuts you don't hear that often so I will miss it if it switches over.... VAPMAN is that short for WVAP? ???
 
Hi LeeCasey. Yes it is short for WVAP. Got my start there back in 78. Met a lot of very nice folks there like Hank Schneider, Shirley George , Hap Parker, Greg Stanford etc. . I may have worked for you or some kin as well at WJES years ago. Small world. Big GusRadio, hope nothing personal taken. We're all brothers in this wonderful world of broadcasting. Whether we agree with one another or not, we all have our opinions and that's what keeps this post going. We all got in the biz because we have a love and passion for it. Each of us has our own way of coming across over the air (variety) and this is what makes us so unique. I have worked and had people work with me that did not exactly sound what I may have considered "my taste", but had listeners that LOVED them. Isn't that what it's all about. So is this why 94.3 is just playing a stopwatch ticking today?

Then why did Tim Miller purchase the MyCountry943.com. Was it just propaganda?
 
Until the music starts to play you can never be sure and then sometimes you have to make sure it's not some stunt going on then. CHR or Country I guess we will know at 6 am tomorrow, or at least Columbia will I can't hear the station from here so I will have to read it on this thread.

They have the old women with 92.1. Perhaps a combo station? The stop watch makes me think they're going to call it 60 Minutes Radio. Go after the grumpy old man demo with nothing but Andy Rooney monologues.
 
CHR or Hot AC same result.

WNOK cranked up the processing in anticipation at the end of last week.

Expect that within a week WXBT, WNOK, and WLTY will refocus and reposition to squeeze either a CHR or Hot AC out.
