WWOF?

I noticed a construction permit for 890 AM-WWOF to Lithia Springs from Walhalla, SCDoes anybody know about this station?Isn't that a fairly distant move for an AM?

>> Isn't that a fairly distant move for an AM?Not really. The former WBIT-1470 in Adel, Ga. moved to the metro Atlanta area, and became WWAA-1690, with programming from Air America.

So, it might be a little distant, but it's not all that uncommon.

Did WWOF really move from Wahalla? Is it now on the air in Georgia?

890 is Spanish programming with a signal that comes from the WAOK towers on I-20 west. Strong signal, do not know the power. Of course they are off at night due to WLS.

According to radio-locator (which is almost always a coulple of months late) 890 AM is WJTP am a 5KW daytime only station.

The construction permit and call letter change has not been updated. There is a WWOF FM in Tallahassee FL.

I do not know if they have the same ownership. Some holding companies use different names for different stations for legal and tax purposes. Is the new COL enough miles (or Kilometers) from Chicago for nighttime service?
