WWOR To Continue Airing "Simpsons" Reruns This Fall?

When its reruns first entered syndication, "The Simpsons" aired nightly on Fox O&O WNYW/5. As of last year, reruns moved to sister station WWOR/9; it currently airs weeknights at 6:30 and 7 PM, plus a two-hour block Thursdays at 8 PM.

This fall, the FXX network will begin airing reruns of the show with an unprecedented twelve-day marathon. They spent a lot of money on these shows. Does this mean the end for OTA-syndication of the show?

They probably will. FXX is a cable network, digital cable to boot. While reruns will air there, there are millions of people relying on digital TV for broadcasts, so I wouldn't be surprised if syndicated reruns continue. It's also still in production!
