Does anyone know the story as to why they're moving?

Yes, they're cinreasing day power by 2,000 Watts but they are moving south of TUscaloosa and will no longer cover the city very well at all.

Why would they want to move out of Tusacaloosa to a much smaller town? Does anyone know the motivation behind this?

I was wondering that myself since the move would result in WWPG not being able to cover Tuscaloosa with a city-grade signal.

WWPG's sister FM WQZZ is licensed to Eutaw, so maybe they're trying to consolidate both operations there.

Me thinks they are doing this, to give Eutaw a local radio station once again.

Although WQZZ does rebroadcast on a translator in the Tuscaloosa area, I thought they didn't really consider themselves a Tuscaloosa station since WQZZ is only a class A. I figured they were probably focused more on being a Eutaw station, instead. I haven't heard the station in several years since most of the time I only get WHLW out of Montgomery on 104.3.

I doubt theyre moving 1280AM to make it a local station in Eutaw.

i wonder what station on a enarby frequency is upgrading and paying them to move?

OR.. Maybe, the owners are cash strapped and moving the station to owned land...
