WWRL Reception In Mid-winter

Occasionally some jesters have stated "ha-ha Air America is off-the-air"! Au contraire mon frere...at this time of year, and at a sufficient distance from Boston, I can occasionally pick up WWRL-AM 1600 while it's putting out 25,000 amazing watts, and what have I heard? Tom Oliphant and Al Franken discoursing just before 3:00 pm, and Randi Rhodes's closely-reasoned and calmly-expressed orations before sundown. So whether or not A.A.R. is purchased by the proverbial White Knight, Air America as of this moment is STILL around...and WWRL is once again showing up in the ratings!

I was scanning the dial on Rt 28 in N. Reading not too long ago and 1600 WWRL was indeed coming in
(about 5:30 pm)
Also while on I-93 nr. the Herald building, WLVP 870 out of Portland ME was coming in on a Saturday
morning (...at least till I got a few miles south of there when a pirate playing Laura Branigan came in
on that freq instead)

Because WUNR is nulled to the west, you don't have to go very far west of 128 to hear WWRL at night. Natick will do it, even the far side of Wellesley.

The purpose of the post is to remind readers that Air America is STILL functioning...Howie Kurtz even had Rachel Maddow on "Reliable Sources" on CNN this morning!
