WWTN signal issues

Has anyone else noticed problems this week with WWTN? I normally have excellent solid coverage at home up on the mountain in the Sewanee/Monteagle area but for the last few days they have been in the noise to nonexistent depending on where I was. I have tried four different radios and multiple locations.

Appropriate that Signal-Faded would post an update on this topic. Why fix it so soon? Restaurants don't fix stoves that fast...

And no mention of their problems on their website. The telephone answerer is clueless also.

There must be limited delivery service for parts to Manchester.

Hendersonville, actually. They changed the city-of-license last year.

(isn't the tower still just off Hwy. 96 just west of Murfreesboro?)

Michael Delgiorno also made a poignant comment about the issue as well, saying how they have been working with 1kw vs. 100kw this week and how he now has even more respect for the 1510 team and now understands what it's like to be on a level playing field with the limited WLAC-AM signal (watch this, Buddy).

I want to say the tower is right near the 840/24 intersection isn't it?

Thanks for the information guys. I had suspected it was a transmitter or transmission line issue. Been there, done that. Best wishes to their engineering staff to get them back on soon.

The WWTN tower is about 7 miles WSW of Murfreesboro, between Hwy 96 and 99. You can see it from many areas of Murfreesboro, especially at night.

I'm not sure if they are currently on a low-power setup at the Murfreesboro tower, or at some kind of backup location, but the signal is still decent at my location in Murfreesboro, though noticeably weaker (roughly comparable to the weaker Nashville signals like 92.1 and 106.7).

It's noticeable their signal is weaker, but if they're only using 1kW, it's getting out really well! I guess thanks goes to their giant tower. I was up in Bethpage/Westmoreland today in between some hills and were still coming in strong. Both Fish, Way, and WVCP were nearly non-existent. Even stronger than i106 which is on the north side.

Those signals you mention, other than WWTN are all just tough signals. They are what they are. The lethargic signal of WWTN is now going into two weeks. (I admit I haven't listened since Friday, so it may be fixed.) I just can't remember a signal issue lasting this long. I guess the parts are in China, while the paint dries on the coaches artwork on West End.

Did anybody even notice that the ratings came out for February? 25-54 SC clean the clocks, as usual. I bet they don't even have to work at it anymore. Right. I would like to congratulate Crums for eventually having three in the top 10. It's quite a chance to make sure Atlanta steps in and helps lead the direction of the new additions to the family.

Re: those other signals, is the 106.7 signal using an odd directional pattern? Last week I was in an above-ground parking garage at the American Center complex on West End, tuned to 106.7, and got just fuzz, 3 miles from the tower.

Kinda weird pattern. WNFN's only 30 feet off the ground! You were to high! ;D. Probably it was just taking a 15 minute break from being on the air all day.

Actually, that parking garage is notorious for signal issues. The Fan's (*) off of I-24 near Brick Church Pike, within that cluster of towers. There might be a few hills getting in the way, but it's at 966 ft HAAT. It's spotty in lots of places, but better than WTN as of late.
