WWWA 107.9 translator moving

The WWWA 107.9 translator in Portland is moving to 100.5.This will probobly affect the WHEB 100.3 signal which is pretty good in Portland.

They're both only 10 watts.107.9 is barely listenable.Their other Portland translator with 250 watts at 92.5 doesn't have a very good signal either.

I was in Portland about 2 weeks ago and you're right, both are horrible to listen to engineering-wise.

Looking at the documents online at the FCC, this move is being done mainly because of the interference it causes with 107.9 in Skowhegan, which since an upgrade and transmitter move, comes in much better to the south. There's a strech of I-295 around Brunswick where a really good 107.9 WFMX signal gets completely taken over by the Portland 107.9 translator.

A question for those who regularly travel in and around Portland: Out of all the WWWA translators around Portland ( I think there's 3 or 4) how many can be shut off because of the signal overlap of the stations? The first one to me that should go is the 100.5/107.9 translator because you already have 92.5 pumping out 250 watts in Portland.
