I know I'm very critical of Clear Channel, but I think I have every right to be when their product sounds sloppy.

This is not the first time I've heard this happen. There was a song playing not that long before Midnight. It was abruptly cut-off went to dead air for a few seconds and then the syndicated "After Midnite" started. Sloppiness. As I said this is a happens regularly. Can't whomever programs the automation system plug in a promo or a PSA or even an ID instead of playing a song and then cutting it off?

Was listening to the station late afternoon one day last week, and it sounded just like a jukebox. No personality. I'm told the station is live only from 6-8 a.m., and the morning drive person voice tracks the 8 a.m. hour. The station is not fun to listen to like it was years ago.

And yet it's cleaning up in the ratings. Personality? Live radio? John and Jane Q. Public don't care if anyone actually works in radio, just as long as they hear long sets of familiar hits.

Who are the people listed under blogs on the 92.5 website? Just voicetracked people?

Well I see that "Michael J" is also on the websites for WBBS Syracuse, WRWD Poughkeepsie, and countless other CC country stations. Must be that they're running the "premium choice" national voicetracked jocks at times.

Michael J is based at WMZQ 98.7 in DC. I think he's their afternoon drive jock. As for the morning show there is a posting on their website that they're looking for a morning show host 5AM-10AM.

The song being cut off is not just Clear Channel. It happens to just about any station that carries national shows. It happens on WKLB in Boston and WOKQ in New Hampshire and many others. On a seperate note, I'm tired of people saying how they hate Clear Channel. I love CC. They really know how to run a radio station. They have the best country stations in the nation. Their talk stations kick ass to. I love WXKS Talk 1200 in Boston. I sure hope 97.9 becomes a talk station.

How does a talk station there compete with WTKK-FM 96.9 on the air already? Getting back to country, how is WKLB-FM 102.5 of Waltham/Boston doing?

1200 has a poor signal in much of the Boston area, especially at night, and barely shows up in the Arbitrons. Not sure an all right-wing talk lineup is going to cut it in a market in which two NPR stations (WBUR and WGBH) outrate both AM talkers (WRKO and WXKS).

WKLB has had excellent 12+ numbers. It's being assumed that they are cleaning up in 25-44 female, but of course the ratings breakdown is classified information.
