WWZN air signal on WARL?

A few nights ago, I heard a station ID for WWZN-1510 on WARL-1320. It was a customized station ID from Sporting News Radio. It said something to the effect of "You're listening to Sporting News Radio on 1510 The Zone..." then it ended with the singing outcue "Sporting Neeewwwsss Raaayyyddeeeooo." I heard this ID on WARL 1320. Is WARL "piggy-backing" off WWZN's air signal somehow to air the Sporting News Radio programming?

Sounds like MacFerson up to his old tricks again. Anything to make or save a buck. I was wondering if anyone even listens to WARL?

I dont lsten to them since they stop playing Hip Hop music .
______________
Jack Format is bad for radio .

When did WARL ever play that hip hop slop and rap crap? If they did actually have that format, and they ditched it, good for them. I would rather listen to some low-budget nationally sydicated sports talk show then some crappy music format.

Yes, the station's signal is horrible. It's targeting Providence but you can't even hear the station on Dorrance Street where their studio is! I still can't figure out why the Providence Bruins are airing their play-by-play on a station we can barely hear. On the other hand, the P-Bruins are on three other stations, but that's not the point. The point is their "flagship" station has a terrible signal.

WARL was/is carrying a boxing show that also airs on 1510 the Zone. It was also airing on Davidson's now defunct Spanish Station in Hartford, Connecticut POWER 990 WXCT*. I found it hilarious hear IDs for 1510 the Zone on POWER 990 and commercials for Boston area businesses. The host of the show once mentioned the show airs on 3 stations - 1510 The Zone in Boston, 1320 The Drive in Providence, and WXCT 990 in Hartford.

*POWER 990 is now an English Language Talk Station. Kind of ironic it was on WARL and WXCT since they're former sister stations.
