Wx Guy Gene Norman Out at KHOU

Probably not. David does a good job with the weather, and he's personable on the air, and I think he should get the prime time job.

But I don't think he will because he's not a hard driving over-achieving Type-A personality like the major market stations seem to want in prime time. David's easy going neighborly style is better suited for mornings and midday.

Looks like the Norman number has dropped all the way down to a 0. God speed Gene Norman...please don't bring back the Doc. :)
 
I would say this station is looking more and more like a small market one every day, but that would probably be an insult to ACTUAL small market stations. No wonder why im watching 13 a little more often.
 
Gene Norman was an arrogant horses rearend to work with!! Mario and David were nice charming gentlemen and a pleasure to work with. I hate to be mean but Gene Norman being out is a blessing to KHOU. If they need a list of more people to throw out of there that don't do anything I can give a list of about 20 people and save Belo money LOL!!

Howdy Filo...Saw a spot on channel 11 the other day with Dr. Frank announcing that David Paul is now the Chief Meteorologist. Who knows... maybe they are looking for neighborly... kinda like Sid Lasher was back in the day?

I know from Dr. Frank himself that Gene did not get along with the other meteorologists, and (for no apparent reason) was not happy at all when Chita (who he referred to as "Blondie") and David switched places last Fall.

I watch 11 every night and I really like David as Chief. He reminds me of a young Dr. Frank.
 
According to a number of sources, Gene Norman starts Monday on WIAT CBS42 Birmingham as their new chief meteorologist.
