WXBQ Shake-Up

Hasn't WXBQ been the perennial ratings winner in the Tri-Cities? If it ain't broke, why fear that they'll fix it?
 
On some Nashville website:

His final show was yesterday (2/2). Co-host Steve Stroud remains solo in mornings while PD Bill Hagy seeks a replacement.
 
Well, honestly, I don't see how this is a good move for Richard unless AXM's thinking that Richard's name recognition is gonna generate bigger numbers in the Tri Cities books, which I don't think it will, or they offered RQ a boatload of cash.

For grins and giggles, do you think Bill Hagy will look in-house for a replacement....or within the market, or bring someone from their Charleston or Paducah properties? What would you think of a Steve Stroud-Taylor Morgan combo? Before WTFM, Taylor was at WSM-FM in Nashville...or a "Steve and Steve" morning show with Stroud and Steve Mann? There is a former XBQ talent that left and went to Florida then to Phoenix named Marty Osborne doing morning at a station in Greeneville, TN that has great pipes.

Or what about moving Trags from Afternoon Drive to mornings with Stroud. What you guys think?
 
Didn't Jeff Jeffries have a run programming WXBQ once before....or just did PM Drive maybe? I seem to remember him being in Bristol at one time.
 
I'm out of work and have done mornings on several Tri-Cities radio stations and would LOVE to have the job!!! Someone help me with out that okay. Being laid-off sucks! hee hee ;D
 
I don't think Marty Osborne will ever go back WXBQ. Knucklehead Bill Hagy fired him when the ratings were through the roof in afternoons. At that time, WXBQ and WIVK had the best cume in drive time. He's comfy in G'ville.
