WXEC Merigold / WZEC Itta Bena

I've been wondering about these stations since the CPs were first issued a while back. Both are owned by "Enterprise Corporation of the Delta". Any idea what the formats are or what the plans are for these two non-comms? WXEC is showing as on the air while WZEC still has a CP from the MVSU comm tower at the school.

Both are licensed for just 100 watts, and WXEC has a permit to move up to 14 kW from a site near Clarksdale.

Zach -

WZEC and WXEC are part of a six station / permit cluster that includes KAEC in Alexandria, LA, KLEC in Lake Providence, LA / Greenville, MS, KQEC in Star City / Pine Bluff, AR and KUEC in Monticello, AR.

The licensee has only recently obtained funding to build out a Delta-wide non-comm radio network, and the KLEC, KUEC, WXEC, and WZEC has to be dropped to a Class A minimum so that the licensee could get them on the air cheaply before their CPs expired.

The licensee has now applied for bigger signals in each market, which will be actual facilities when the network is complete.

I am not sure what the format of the network will be.
