WXGO ?

http://www.radio-locator.com/info/WXGO-AM
Is Cincinnati going to get another “weak” am? I have seen this on radio locator in the past and it still makes no sense to me. Is the some kind of programming hole this day timer going to fill? Six towers will take more than three acres, this is going to cost a lot of dollars to build. Of course the transmitter will not use that much power, so there will be some savings! If they have to light all six towers this could be very expensive.

Glad to hear that CP is long gone - Cincinnati doesn't need another small AM signal, and WXGO provides good service to Madison and Jefferson County in Indiana... parts of that area in the Ohio River Valley get very few signals due to terrain.

That's a point rarely made. Downtown Madison is what...30' above river level? And the huge hills on the KY and Indiana side, along with the curvature of the Ohio do indeed result in few signals making it in there. With what that would have cost to build and the small potential for it to succeed in a Cincy market that has 1 AM with a vastly better signal (relatively speaking) currently silent, leaving it put in Madison was a far better choice IMHO.
