I just cringe everytime he comes on and usually turn the channel. He is just awful! He sounds like he has a mouth full of marbles and you never know what will come out of his mouth. He actually said going into a break we will be right back with the Easter Sunday forecast and it's Dec.
 
I have run into him and his family several times around Alpharetta where I live and I suppose he lives as well. He is a very nice guy and very knowledgable. I have watched him several times on 11 Alive and he does a great job. Awful in my opinion is Markina Brown on CBS Atlanta. Not everyone is perfect! I am not down playing your comment as everyone has their favorite weather person on TV. I actually like Glenn and Brad on WSB and will always go to them in severe weather.
 
Well true we all have out favorites. I use to work for an NBC affilate so I lean toward the NBC outlet here, WXIA. Ch.46 is not even on my radar screen and NEVER have watched them. They are so small market and the stupid morning show thet have at 9am SUCKS! WSB has the best all around news and weather.
 
Francis knows what he's talking about. That said, I never see him on 11. Figured this post was about him leaving. Does 11 promote their weather at all? They should use Francis all over the place and less Chesley.

Compare to... why Markina Brown, who gets tons of promotion on 46. I am not sure they actually have any other employees because it seems only Markina gets the marketing. Anyway, I love the ads which show the general public offering their opinion on Markina after seeing a demo. One of them says she dresses nice. Yep folks. There you have it. All you need to do weather in ATL is dress nice. Done.

Having watched the channel, I will just say her wardrobe is interesting.
 
All I can say in Markina's defense is she is a certified meteorologist unlike Dagmar. However, this is Atlanta, a market where for female personalities they have to dress to impress...
 
11 Alive does promote the heck out of Chesley I must say. I'd assume CBS Atlanta does teh same for Markina because she's the chief meterologist. It is rare to see an African American chief female meterologist. I just wish CBS Atlanta would upgrade the weather maps and graphics
