WXIA Weather Host

I won't beat around the bush, Mike Francis is a TERRIBLE weather host. He sounds like he has a mouth full of marbles and does not know what is is going to say next. He's a chowder head! If he is own I quickly change the channel.

Weather Host? Get it right Man! He is the Chief Meteorologist!!! It took me some time to get used to him, but he is actually very knowledgeable and a former military man. I will still only watch Glenn Burns when it comes down to severe weather though. I guess everyone has their likes and dislikes. Now, Markina Brown... there is your is TERRIBLE!

His tenure, knowledge and gadgets, plus the team that works with him Brad Nitz and David Chandley. One of the best weather teams in the country in my opinion.

Uh ok. I actually find most of the meteorologists in the market to be decent, but I grew up in a market where severe weather meant business, i.e. Birmingham. Glenn Burns is good, but so is Ken Cook and new arrival Mike Francis. Mike is new and still learning the market, so I can forgive him for his missteps over-the-air such as messing up pronunciation of places in North Georgia.

Now on to Markina Brown, I don't know what to make of it other than she has yet realize this is a severe weather market, where the seriousness of weather needs to be "taken seriously". She has worked as a meteorologist in Cleveland and Los Angeles, two weak severe weather markets (oh yeah Cleveland's snow storms are nothing compared to Southern weather), so I can understand. However, she needs to get her act together if she wants to be taken seriously as a chief meteorologist.

Who watches 46 anyway? They are not even on my radar screen. And you know I could never figure out why they call themselves CBS 46. You don't see ABC 2 or NBC 11. Just plain stupid!

They don't go by "CBS 46" anymore, and haven't in over 2 years, their on-air brand is "CBS Atlanta". The reason why WSB-TV and WXIA doesn't go by those brandings is their long established knowledge as "Channel 2 (Action News)" and "11 Alive". In recent years, both WSB and WXIA have added their network affiliation logos to their main logos. WAGA has modified their brand in recent years from "TV5" to "FOX5" to now "FOX5 Atlanta".

Glen Burns is the #### 1 turd-head in Atlanta... I am not in the Atlanta dma... but I am in Georgia.. Glen is the only weather person in Atlanta that refuses to include Toccoa, Stephens County in warnings for bad weather... and I UNDERSTAND that our weather comes from the Carolina stations and we are NOT in the Atlanta DMA... but many of us watch Ga. stations, because we live in GA... and I know the weather people in Atlanta know when we are in store for bad weather...Glen has blocked my emails and said he is going to call the sheriff on me if I don't stop bugging him about excluding us... frankly that doesn't matter, we all have excess to radar... he is just a turd-head....Even his follow weather workers at ch 2 along with fox 5 and wxia will issue bad weather warnings for n e ga...

I have a NOAA weather weather radio. You can set a good one to only go off during warnings. It delivers the fastest warnings. I live on the Chattanooga - Atlanta market line and if it is a big event the weather radio is the best, as each market station's are concentrating on the close in storms. I also use weather.com and have entered my zip code. Weather.com has "local" radar, there is a time delay but it is amazingly accurate. Most tornadoes have warnings that give you at least 5 minutes to get to the basement thanks to the ability to detect "cloud rotation". Counting or a TV or radio station that is not in your area questionable, from a safety point of view. If a tornado is aimed at Cobb County with it's large population verses a rural non DMA county guess who gets the attention on the Atlanta stations. Do the local radio stations do NWS storm warnings. If not then you should call and write them.
