WXLV's 45.2 in black

I noticed that WXLV's 45.2 subchannel, which was playing Country music videos supplied by a satellite channel, is now in black.

Are they having technical problems, or just getting ready for to lease the channel to someone?

Later . . . .

Don't know if it is related or not, but I know they took a big lightning hit a few days ago that took out some equipment.

I've been having lots of problems with WMYV but not WXLV. More detail is here.

If you are serious about getting good reception, I will be happy to help. If all you want to do is put up some cheesy indoor antenna and expect to receive stations 60 miles away error free, then I am not interested.

Your call.
It's not 60 miles. Most of these stations are closer than a lot of the ones I get on cable. I was doing very well for the first few months actually. And until I had to get a new TV and I moved the converter box, I didn't usually have problems. WXLV had difficulties for awhile, but since WMYV and WFMY were doing fine, I blame the station, because that whole first summer of DTV, I never once had to watch WSOC for ABC. And WFMY had NO problems. I have experienced difficulties during some awards shows. And for the first few months of this past TV season, I taped "Monk" on Friday evenings. You don't tape two hours of programming if you think you are taking a risk. But for some reason, while the other stations did reasonably well, WMYV went south. I watched the entire two hours of "Monk" when it was drizzling and 50 degrees on Good Friday.

I turned to WMYV last night after watching "Same Name" with no apparent glitches (it looked more like a network problem than a station problem, because what I saw looked more like what used to happen with analog, and I never lost sound). Lots of pixellation. I moved the converter box slightly, and perfection.

And it's not a "cheesy" antenna. I paid quite a bit of money for it. Maybe an outdoor antenna would cost more, and a lot more to install (no, I'm not doing it), but I don't have a good place for it. Should I cut down all my trees? Should I put it next to the power lines and the road? Tre, cable is more expensive in the long term but I have no headaches.
