I was looking at WXLY on Mediabase and they're playing cuts from the Goo Goo Dolls, Natasha Bedingfield, LeAnn Womack, John Mayer, Gloria Estefan, Train, MercyMe among others. Gone are the handful of 60s songs they were still playing except for traditional AC songs like Build Me Up Buttercup, Rescue Me, etc.

When did they change the music again to Mainstream AC? Last I heard it was mostly 70s with some 60s and 80s, sort of Gold AC. I'm guessing to get some of the Sunny audience. Now it's just the typical cookie-cutter CC AC station like WMYI, WLYT, etc. So sad to see a once-great station destroyed so slowly. At least they've settled on a format that's easier to distinguish than what they've been doing the past 2 years.
 
I was noticing that WLTQ fell in the ratings. One wonders how long a good station like that will last, but they've always managed to stay consistent. Until now.

There's an obvious hole and I wonder if they'll fill it. But I feel sorry for fans of "good music" if they do.
 
I checked Wikipedia today and it claims they've gone AC. But I looked at the last songs played on their web site at that time and I can't tell any difference.

In the past it was mostly 70s and early 80s with some 60s and late 80s and maybe 90s. Looks mostly like 70s-today AC.....until recently, they never included any currents.
 
Typical gold-based AC. Smart move. No great for oldies fans, but for solidifying a Top 5 12+ position, it makes a lot of sense.

Well, two of the songs are definitely AC as opposed to oldies.

Incidentally, I haven't heard the station since the change, though it's unusual for me to hear it at all.
