WXNT/Fox News Radio?

Why not a 1khz tone at 0db? There are people at Central State or someplace like it that would listen and give WXNT a higher AQH than what they currently have.

I agree with 11 South. If a station is going to try to compete with WIBC in the news/talk arena they need to deliver quality local programming without all the technical problems. And please, Abdul is not a solution.

You think WIBC has 'quality local programming?' Please... WXNT may have it's problems, but WIBC has some of the WORST local programming I've heard on any news talk station anywhere. They've got their numbers by heritage and default - not from any quality effort on the part of their local programs.

I'm sure Jeff Pidgeon and Dave Wilson are nice guys and all, but they really couldn't put any LESS effort into their shows.

I would ABSOLUTELY agree. What a letdown to go from Rush to Dave Wilson. I also remember several BAD attempts to follow Rush in the past - and they've never found a decent followup. Anyone remember "Quessel" or that Randy "I'm a comedian, but have never done radio" guy?

Randy "I'm A Comedian, but have never done radio" Montgomery worked for WNDE pre G Gordon Liddy Days after WNDE Lost RUsh to WIBC. I NEver Recall Randy Montgomery ever being on WIBC. Randy had Done bits for Bob and Tom prior to his WNDE Stint. WIBC Followed Rush first with Stan Solomon then Jeff Katz then Bob QUessel then Dave Wilson

Alright...first of all can we all agree that stupid comments like the above here are a waste of space on this board and a waste of time for the people that read them. Secondly, while WXNT still has weak 12+ numbers, they are making consistent strides in the News/Talk target demo and it appears with the increase in commercials they are running that the station is generating some revenue for Entercom. I wouldn't claim to be a great businessman, but if I have a property that it is bringing in some money and has potential for growth, I would keep it. Taking a radio station and broadcasting a 1khz tone, keep writing insane things like that, 11 south, and you'll end up at Central State yourself.

Allright, I'll give up on the 1khz tone at 0 dbu. How about the number "7" touchtone instead?

I stand corrected. And yes, who could forget Solomon!

I remember what a major contrast those hosts were with the classy guy who preceeded them - Jerry Baker. It's been great to hear him guest host over the last couple of weeks. Admittedly, Jerry's show, (from the "Jack Sunday" WIFE days on), has been an entertainment and music show, NOT a talk show. But IMHO he epitomized class at WIBC, both when he headed up the sports dept back in the 70's, up till his drive time show in the 80's, (complete with Lou Palmer doing news).
