WXOF in Ocala?

Radio Ink headlines this morning: John Boy And Billy Enter Ocala should read: John Boy and Billy enter Yankeetown, Or: John Boy and Billy enter Ocala through the side door, Or: John Boy and Billy MapQuests Yankeetown. Curious what kind of signal this Class A really puts into Ocala. Anyone with ears over there hear The Big Show this morning??

WXOF provides a crummy signal to Ocala, However its still very much listenable on a good car radio. Just not on the Car Radio I have. But don't except reception on a household Boombox or a cheaper car radio. I know because thats all the person I live with will listen to. The signal is worse the on the SE side of town due to interference from WDBO-FM.

Then again the signal is 35 miles away from Downtown Ocala and is only a Class A at 3,500 Watts.

The signal in Ocala is still better than sister station WXCV 95.3 however.

Levy Park, which is next to Yankeetown (WXOF's COL), is one heck of a DX spot, though! AM *and* FM, I'd say!

Also the end of the Ozello Road, which leads out of Crystal River and winds (not quite as bad as SF's Lombard Street, but pretty winding) for 11 miles, is a great spot as well.

WXOF reception > WXCV reception helps due to 96.3 being a much lesser-used frequency in FL, not as prone to co-channel interference.

Aw, now I wanna go back again....
