WXRK 92.3 K-Rock What do you think?

The website www.923wxrk.com is already up. It looks exactly like the old site only with newer graphics. I'm not impressed at all. Hopefully they will improve it.

No big surprises

Kim didn't drop any bombshells at 11:03 (the offical launch time of k-rock).

The metal show, underexposed, and punk show return. The dj line-up remains the same. They're going to keep the variety. A lot of alternative and 90's stuff. The nooner will return weekday afternoons.

The inner sanctum with Pat the Producer will start (already announced on this board). Also, every Wednesday night Iggy is going to feature a local band.

Kim also promised "less idiot talk". She said talk will be kept to a minimum and pretty much be focused on favorite bands and upcoming concerts.

Also, she still wants feedback through the website www.923wxrk.com and her phone number (216-861-1115).
______________

Kim promises less "dumb talk" from the DJs, and and the same paragraph says Iggy is returning... and with a specialty show called "Mr. Iggy's Neighborhood" focusing on local music! Somebody shoot me now!! Website is still a joke, exactly the same as before only with a new background. They will half-ass this station just like they did with extreme and 92-3 X. Talk radio Free FM will be on 92.3 in less than 1 year, mark my words.

I started laughing my ass off when she said alot of the callers said they missed hearing the dj's. I have no problem with Rachael. She is probably the best dj they have. Nard is just ok. I can't believe anybody would miss Iggy. Hopefully during his 3 weeks off he took a class on how to become a better dj and not just talk about stupid stuff all the time. I guess we'll find out at 7pm.

Re: Isn't is convenient....

>That arbs come out at 5pm today - the day of thier big launch - and from the look of her ADDS - she is still just adding records for her buds in the industry - same s@&t - different call letter. Where as the music sounds great - the DJ's are just lame - I hope it works though - I would hate living in a town with no new music.......

Re: No big surprises

i think slats was the only "good" dj ever on xtreme. he had good interviews with interesting people... personally i would listen to 92.3 more if the rotation was not soooooooooooooo limited. granted i listen to the radio about 10 hours a day so i will hear the same songs over and over, but i think they have it all wrong when you hear the same 10 songs in a 4 hour rotation.... i know as a radio listener i love to hear songs that i forgot about, that i loved 5 or 10 years ago, or songs that i never heard from artists i know,.... i will probably give krock a shot, but i think i will be dissapointed...

btw, if you are going to talk as a dj, just give us some useful info about the artist,(little known fact, next cd release, tour info, etc) or a funny or informative story. it is not that difficult

As far as I know, ALL SIX stream on their websites. Google might be faster than my typing them out. :)

Go to www.radio-locator.com, you can search stations by call letters or city. Gives you the station site, if they stream, and other station info.
______________
