WXRT's New Imaging

Just noticed that WXRT is now using the liner, "Chicago's Original Alternative."

For those of us old enough to remember, they were the first station to play Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Liz Phair, Gin Blossoms, Matthew Sweet, etc. When Q101 started they never went after XRT, perhaps it was a difference of demos. XRT was targeting males 25-54 while Q101 was targeting women 18-35. Now that Q is gone, XRT seems to be doing all they can to bring the old Q audience over.
 
XRT is the only radio station in chicago that will play my absolute fav song. "A message to you rudy" by the specials. I give em props for that! The hd2 and hd3 subchannels are not bad too. (Granted the hd3 station is in mono, but still not bad sounding)
