WXRV OFF THE AIR

Of course right after I posted that, WSRS came back on. They were off the air all night though. 94.9 W235AV was also off, and they're back as well.

My house (and entire neighborhood) was off the air from late Thursday night up until just a few hours ago (about 11pm-ish) Friday night. With all the power lines and trees down around here (Worcester/Shrewsbury), I expect my house might go off the air a few more times this weekend.

Anyone wanna do a road trip to....anywhere warm? ;D

Can't remember if they got back on yesterday but tonight WXRV was off again--but did get back on
(just before or just after midnight)

830 WCRN has been off the air since around 2am on Friday morning. Not that anyone would notice. WTAG has been doing superb local storm coverage.

WCRN finally just came back on the air within the last half hour or so. 100.1 WWFX is now off though, and they were on yesterday. Maybe their generator ran out of fuel?

At least one of Howie Carr's listeners did notice that WCRN was off; he emailed Howie to say he was listening via WRKO, and that on 830 he was picking up a station from Reading, PA (WEEU). Howie told listeners that hopefully they could pick up WRKO but of course we know their signal is horrible to the west, etc. after sunset

The Pike was still off as of about 5pm. Checking now, they are still offline. Their website, at 745pm, says "We're sorry but there is no song data at this time." I tried their streaming but nothing happened. Cruisin Bruce needs to get into the studio and onto the hampster wheel.

I've got WXLO going for now.

If there is any good news in all of this, it is that WHAV, as an Internet station, has proven its worth. WHAV got its studio power back Saturday afternoon and immediately began airing local reports. Tune-ins are unusually high for a weekend and, judging from those who have called in, cable television listenership in Haverhill, Groveland and Methuen is very strong.

However, WHAV's Part 15 AM station in Haverhill, MA/Plaistow, NH border was down until Sunday afternoon.

The Pike was back on this morning (late morning when I first tuned in) although I have no idea when they actually came back on.
