WXTU’s Big Upward Ratings Trajectory

InsideRadio has an interesting article about the Country station’s big ratings increase over the past few months. It is not only #3 overall, but more significantly #2, 25-54.
Certainly not rocket science. DJ’s who know their Country music, lots of community engagement, and well researched music choices. And I believe Country music is on an upswing.
I wonder if it would have done as well, if CBS radio (now Audacy) had held onto it, instead of trading it back to Beasley Media, which has run it as a Country station nearly 40 years.

On a Roll

Lack of competition in the market (minus the fringe outer market signals), plus lots of hot, big country tours rolling into town through the summer = people tuning in more. They've done well is past summers too.

What were their Summer '22 numbers like? And, since 2022 was the first full touring season since 2019, did '19 see a similar surge, or was that before country music got on its current roll?
