I worked there when it was X 15 from 1992-1995. The good ole days of alternative music. I did listen to the station when it was oldies also and did like it.

I worked in New York at the time, but was one of your listeners whenever I came to town every month. WXVX was mix of music and personalities that could only happen in Pittsburgh and is incomprehensible to the rest of the radio world. I've always had a great appreciation for those who spun the Pittsburgh Oldies, because every one I've known was motivated by the love of the music; something that is not the case with every deejay.

Big Ray is still active on WEDO. Of course we have Frankie Day and several others at 770 KFB. Heard Porky Chedwick
a few Saturdays ago at WLSW, which (like us) has a busy weekend oldies lineup.

I loved that station.

I loved it more. ;) That was before I lived in Pittsburgh and driving out of range was the most depressing thing ever.

Another X-15 jock here...did afternoons-signoff for almost a year around 91 or 92...good times...

Back in 1976/1977 "Dave" was playing "Progressive rock" on WPSL 1510 in the Afternoons, Using the play 3 cuts then intro them format.
Just like WYDD at that point in time.
