WXXL no audio on HD-1

WXXL-HD1 Orlando "XL 106.7" is currently running dead air on their HD-1. The HD-2 is running normal programming. So most listeners with HD in their cars hear the analog signal for a moment before the HD catches on and then dead air. Not good and this is not the first time XL 106.7 has had this problem.

They may use contract technical help and not know. Maybe give them a call, or send an E-mail letting them know?
Would probably be more impactful than posting something on a radio discussion board.

Thanks. It lasted several hours. They are operating normally last I checked.

It is rather sad though that the top CHR in a decent-sized market could be "off the air" for several hours without them noticing it. Realistically, this only affected listeners with HD radio in their cars. So perhaps 30%?

Many stations aren't monitoring their analog or HD signals in the studio because of the eight seconds of delay. In theory if the transmitter went down altogether, their remote control or listeners would alert them as to a problem. The other thing could be WXXL was on their backup transmitter for the time you mentioned. It isn't unusual for a station, doesn't matter what the format, doesn't have HD setup on a backup transmission system.
