WXYT_AM-1270_First Day of New Format

I checked into 'The Charlie Langton Show' on the first day of the format swap on WXYT-AM 1270. It certainly has a Michigan focus with Charlie talking about a bill to regulate pornography before the Legislature that I was not previously aware of. He took the first call at about 6:24 AM. The 7 AM news had Fox News to begin with and when that was done it cut into the CBS Top of Hour in progress. I suspect that this was a mistake. It would be surpising if they'll use Fox News Radio at the Top of Hour since CBS owns this station.

Beck and Ingraham are on this lineup as well. It'll be interesting to see how this fares against WJR.

With that signal it wouldnt make a huge splash but will fare better then say 1310. If someone wants to take JR on it's gotta be on the FM.

Wouldn't it be redundant to have the same CBS newscast on BOTH WWJ and WXYT-AM? Just asking...

Only if you assume that people will change the dial at the top of hour just to listen to headlines and then go back to listen to the program.

That's not typical. Maybe CBS got the rights to Fox News TOH content with one of the syndicated programs they bought. I don't know.
