WYAY IS MUCH BETTER THAN THE DC STATION

In the first couple of hours tonight, I have heard an amazing mix of songs that I completely forgot about about. It is awesome. I feel 30 years younger. And isn't that what radio is supposed to do, is make you feel good?
Yes, you can listen to Sirius and XM, but it is not a local signal. I know Shannon is Voice tracked, but lets give it a chance for all of the oldies fans. All I can say is AMEN. This is already blowing away the "River" and 98.5.

I think this has the potential to blow a lot of station's out of the boring formats. ;D :-* :) ;) :D

Especially Dave and 98.5.

That's because you're not having to listen to it on an internet stream

I don't know about Dave but I potentially see it hurting The River and B 98.5.

106.7 IS oldies NOT like The River who tries to pass off Classic Rock as oldies.

"What becomes of the broken hearted". ByJimmy Ruffin. Then Chicago after that.. This station is giving me the hives, lol, and insomniac. ;D I love it...It is really a dream come true.

OH GLORY, GOOD NIGHT TO OLD COUNTTRY

Saying goodbye is never easy - especially to good friends.
We started on this journey almost 24 years ago with the promise of real country music for Atlanta radio. We are proud that we delivered on that promise and humbled that we have touched so many lives in the process.

We cannot thank you enough for your support through the years. It has been our true pleasure to bring you the very best in Real Country.

But, today marks the beginning of a new journey.
So, it is with a heavy heart that we bid you a fond farewell.

On behalf of Rhubarb Jones, Dallas McCade, Greg Talmadge, Sandy Weaver, Steve Mitchell, Rob Lee, Jessie Jane and all those who were part of this journey...

Thank you.

Where do you live?

I live up I-75 North outside the Perimeter in Cobb.

I'm still waiting for "The Little Old Lady From Pasadena" lol

Have you noticed they haven't played one Elvis song yet?

I notice you're a DX'er too. What type of antenna and radio equipment do you use to DX?

Its great.. I live in Virginia Highland area off of Briarcliff RD in extreme western Dekalb county. WYAY comes in on a regular portable GE superadio clear as bell, and even better on my car radio. ELVIS is dead, but I am sure we will hear him soon. But this station is a great combination of everything that I love in an oldies format. It totaly blows away the old 105.7. And in alot of ways brings back memories of the phenomenomal stations we had in the late 60's and late 70's we had on AM..

If they keep this up, it a major coup for Atlanta oldie radio afficianidos.

It appears that they are going up to about 1974 or 1975 just before the disco era started.

From what I remember 106.7 had a better signal in Midtown than Fox 97 or Cool 105.7 when I lived there but I had to move so I could put up my 13 element APS-13 FM Antenna. With it and my Sangean HDT-1x I can even get 96.7 in HD as well as 96.7 HD-2 (Jazz) up here all the time.

Right now my radio sounds funny in the morning. Actually no. Now that I'm listening to the new Imus for five minutes, and it has all the excitement and production values of a locally produced 15 minute public affairs program airing at 5:45 am on a Sunday morning.

Now if we can just get them to dump Imus and put Randy & Spiff back together. ::)

Heard on Imus this morning:

"mumblemumblemumblemumbleOBAMAmumblemumblemumbleCLINTONmumblemumblemumbleSUPERDELEGATESmumblemumblemumblemumblemumble"

Are my ears going or is Imus basically incomprehensible?

True Oldies 106.7 has lot's of Elvis in the rotation and Jan and Dean. Just give them time to come around. BTW kuddo's to Russell for great processing on the signal. Excellent audio quality! You the man Russell!! :)

during some technical difficulties I heard Little Darlin' by the Diamonds on Atlanta Radio for the first time in ages!

oh wait...my bad. Savage spins it on Fridays sometimes. Never mind.

:D -- Deep Oldies! Deep Oldies! Deep Oldies!
:( -- Agree with post that it's not live/local enough.
Overall, though 4 stars out of 5.
