WYBR Rockford aircheck from 1986

Ahh, the orange counter tops are coming back to me like it was yesterday. Music was played from a pair of ITC RP series triple deck cart machines on Audiopak A2 carts. (Not the right carts for stereo, but it's what we used.) The console was a McMartin B-802 which we moved over from the Cherryvale Mall and I installed in July, 1982.

I believe you're right that it was the overnight shift. It didn't sound like Dave Anthony, who did Middays. He mentioned Scott Manning, who did PM drive, and Greg Thunder, who did 7pm to midnight.

The aircheck came from a crappy little cassette recorder behind the board.

The station was on the block at that point. A buyer had been found by October 1, and the station flipped to AOR sometime in November.

Thanks for the memories.
