WYCD's Huge Ratings Continue to Build

Just for comparison, how does WWWW 102.9/Ann Arbor do in their ratings? Does their signal even reach much of metro Detroit without interference from WPZR 102.7? I agree though, it's great to hear a country station doing so well in the ratings in Detroit.

This is a reason why 105.1 or 93.1 should have tried country, in order to try to knock WYCD down from #1... although could Cumulus or GM do better than Clear Channel?

Clear Channel's attempt at country on 106.7 was a joke. Horrible imaging and "hick-hop" Friday & Saturday nights.

Re: WYCD Huge Ratings Continue to Build

Take note that a format without competition good numbers are easier to get.

As I am from outside the Detroit market, I wonder whether most of WYCD's success is due to being the only country station within the city, or if it is also a very good station that promotes effectively. Apparently they promote their annual Downtown Hoedown quite heavily. Are these the best ratings a country station ever achieved in this market?

Being the only formatted country station does help them greatly. I don't know if these are the highest numbers for a Detroit country station. WCXI and the old time WWWW country were very popular in their day.

I don't think the numbers are, but I won't be surprised if it's up there.
