WYEA Sylacauga and WZZX Lineville

[WBGR FM 93.1]

AM 1290 WYEA has dropped their Christian Country format for 60's-80's Rock and Roll and Top 40, and are now known as "AM 1290, Sylacauga's Yea Station"... kinda catchy lol...

I believe AM 780 WZZX is back on the air as well, playing classic R&B... I've heard this station with a fair to weak signal in Alexander City, Auburn, and Lafayette so this has got to be WZZX....

I learned about WYEA yesterday but the WZZX thing is news. I can't find a thing about them online, unfortunately.

According to their website they did get a new transmitter and radio-locator has them with a new tower site. It looks like they are not going to let their technical facility deteriorate like some AM's have. I guess the old transmitter was well taken care of to be put in a museum.
